    our month with Foeguard

We had this food in our rotation through January and we can confidently say the dogs loved and enjoyed every last lick! Indigo is known to be pickier with textures and different proteins but had zero issue with this food and enjoyed every meal. Oliver also thoroughly enjoyed the food and his stools were perfect (this is something that we typically have issues with if we try new things with him)
The packaging is convenient as it is in resealable bags and very easy to store in the freezer. These blends come packed with everything your pup needs for a balanced diet, and while I prefer to add in fruit & veg myself, the convenience factor is great. The amazing thing about this company is that the blends are customizable, so if I decided I didn’t want fruit & veg in an order it could be left out!

A little bit about our food journey:
Because my first dog grew cancerous tumors and experienced arthritis in the later years of her life, I was determined to fuel Fuji with the best nutrition early. I wanted to try raw food first due to the multitude of benefits, but Fuji absolutely refused to touch it or any kibble that had touched the raw meat. I figured that perhaps raw food just wasn't for her and then moved on to custom cooked meals or other brand kibble. This eventually led to Fuji refusing meals, having constant explosive diarrhea and increasingly itchy skin. ...
When @foeguard reached out with this opportunity, I was very transparent with how sensitive Fuji was to diet changes, but they were still willing to have Fuji try. I'm very impressed that not only did Fuji eat the raw turkey meal on the first day, she also proceeded to lick the plate clean 😅 I've also been waiting to be woken up in the middle of the night for her to go washroom, but her stool has been consistent and perfect since I began introducing the raw food.

We’ve been trying out the @foeguard chicken & turkey comfort dinners, and Zeus is VERY impressed 😍❤️
We switched Zeus to a raw diet about a year and a half ago and it was the best decision we could make!
We love that we get to support Canadian companies and local farms, one of the many things we love about FoeGuard is that they strive on being Farm to Bowl fresh! 🙌
Love the dinners because they’re already a balanced meal making it easy, they also have options if you prefer a more DIY raw diet!
Zeus LOVES the dinners so much he devours and makes sure he licks every little bit left in his bowl!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Collapsible content

Should I feed my dog raw or kibble? Can I mix kibble and raw?

In most circumstances, since dogs, cats & ferrets are all carnivores they thrive on raw pet food diets. More so the ingredients used in kibble contain high salt content, processed additives and lack whole proteins that properly balanced Raw food does not. You can definitely feed both forms of food together however we don't completely recommend it since each type of food has a different digestive process.

Do I need to add supplementation to your food?

Our complete & balanced raw pet food recipes have everything you need for everyday feeding including supplementation. We also offer Primal Feast meals where customers can add their own toppings & supplementation to our human grade proteins.

How to introduce raw to your pet ?

There are 2 ways of switching to our raw food recipes.

Fasting method for healthy dogs or those on a raw diet. In this method feed your dog a regular meal in the morning and then fast the dogs that evening and next day morning. Start raw that evening.
For new Raw eaters & sensitive dogs gradually start adding our raw recipe to their meals while increasing the amount of our recipe and reducing the amount of kibble on a daily basis. A good rule of thumb is to add 10% of our raw and then remove 10% of kibble in 10 days your fur baby will be totally transferred to our fresh pet food recipes.

Is raw pet food safe?

All of our pet dinners use human grade ingredients and are fulfilled in a government regulated facility to ensure a premium standard, 100% safe meal for your pet and your home.

Can raw feeding effect my pets allergies or digestive issues?

Unlike kibble, raw offers all natural ingredients which diminish many allergic reactions that pets normally have to preservatives, additives and other by-product’s that can negatively affect your pets.
